4 Tips to Identify Unknown Callers Using Free Reverse Phone Number Search Sites

We have all received a phone call from an unfamiliar number before, sometimes repeatedly. With advancement in technology and the Internet, it is now easier than ever to solve these caller ID mysteries with free reverse phone lookup and whether it is a telemarketer, bill collector, prank caller, or ex, the first step in ending these unwanted calls is identifying who it is calling you. Here are four tips for anyone trying to identify who a phone number belongs to:

  • For those unwilling to come out of pocket or those who are more interested in finding out what area the call came from than the name of the phone owner, there are various free reverse phone number services. Websites such as FreeCellSearch provide a free basic lookup. Although the name of the person or business the phone number belongs to will not be provided, it can still be helpful by revealing the city and state the phone number is from and whether it belongs to a landline or cellular phone.
  • A popular website that provides free information about mysterious phone numbers is Whitepages, which is free to join. With it, you can perform reverse phone number searches from your computer or by downloading their app to your mobile phone. At the least, you will be provided with the type of phone the call came from, the phone service provider, and the city it originates from. If its member has provided the name of the person or business the phone number belongs to, that information is also available for members at no cost. The website will also tell you the probability of whether or not a specific phone number belongs to telemarketers or phone spammers.
  • If the owner name or other further information on the phone number is imperative, will give you a complete reverse phone number report for a small fee. For $5, Intelius will search billions of public records to provide a report with the most complete information available on the searched phone number. This information can include the owner of the unlisted or non-published phone number’s name, age, address, and even possible relatives, which they verify via public utility. Using this service may or may not be worth the money because it can either pinpoint the exact information needed or come up with very little information because complete information is unavailable.
  • If all else fails, enter the phone number into a popular search engine such as Google. Try first with hyphens and if necessary, search the phone number again without using hyphens. People often provide their phone numbers on resumes, Craigslist, Facebook, and other various sites.

But a successful small business also has to consider cost-effective options for office space such as in a small business hub or self-storage as cost-effective commercial storage instead of a warehouse.
